「遊機」

——見世間機變之心知其所以然遊於其中而不為其所役。

大道聲隆聽者稀一動機心忘天機。在萬物運行的節點之中不以機巧介入任其自然流轉任運隨息而不黏著這種心物相應的狀態則剛剛好。

「遊機」

—— 世の機変に動く心を見極め、その所以を知る。

その中に遊び、しかし決してそれに使役されない。

大道の声は大きいのに、聴く者は少ない。

ひとたび機心が動けば、たちまち天機を忘れる。

万物が運行する節点において、機巧で介入せず、自然の流転に委ねる。

任運随息、執着しない。心と物が呼応する――その状態が「ちょうどいい」。

ウロボロスの身には東方の二十八星宿が宿っています。彼らは宇宙の中で一つの大きな星に包まれ、その大きな星もまた、無数の星々に抱かれた小さな星にほかならない。荘子の「至大無外、至小無内」の言葉のように、それは重々無尽の「道」です。

宇宙の境界とは、おそらく私たちの心の境界なのでしょう。

Upon the body of the Ouroboros dwell the twenty-eight lunar mansions of the East. They are embraced by a great star in the cosmos, and that great star is itself but a small star embraced by countless others. As Zhuangzi said, “The greatest has nothing beyond; the smallest has nothing within” — it is the Way of endless layers.

Perhaps the boundary of the universe is none other than the boundary of our own hearts.

「鉄鎖女」として知られる癸卯の年に、私はその年の干支である兎と、「小花梅」の半生を縛りつけた鉄鎖を刻んだ。彼女は家畜のように人身売買の手に渡され、暗く狭い小屋に閉じ込められ、多くの子を産むことを強いられた。それはまさに映画『盲山』や恭一の写真集『盲』が示した人間性の悪の氷山の一角にすぎない。そして今もなお、数多の女性たちが人身売買によって辺鄙な山村へと連れ去られ、有形無形の鉄鎖によって深淵へと縛りつけられているのである。

In the year of the Water Rabbit, remembered as the year of the “Chained Woman,” I carved the zodiac rabbit along with the iron chain that bound half of Xiaohuamei’s life. She was treated like livestock, sold by human traffickers, locked inside a dark hut, and forced to bear many children. This is but the tip of the iceberg of human cruelty revealed in the film Blind Mountain and in Gong Yi’s photo series Blind. Countless other women, trafficked into remote mountain villages, remain bound in the abyss by chains both visible and invisible.
