The people who created the statues, those who destroyed the statues during that decade, and those who reshaped the statues themselves for various reasons. The above is the experience of three groups of craftsmen with completely different intentions in destroying and reshaping cliff statues at the same location to varying degrees during these three different periods. Craftsmen in every period believe that what they do is the most correct thing that comes from collective will. I am amazed by the courage bestowed upon them by this collective will, even surpassing their deeply ingrained religious emotions from a young age.
So, from the face of this cement statue that has been reshaped by humans, I recorded on a piece of paper the "JI" of the three layers of time and space. Among them lies the three completely different willpower of craftsmen who have been separated by hundreds of years. For us, this may be a contradictory collection, but at these three time points, craftsmen need the will of an elephant crossing the river to carry out the actions of standing, destroying, and reshaping. Their current actions in different time and space will not be contradictory. Until today, when these unwavering wills overlap again before my eyes, I pluck their three wills of determination from the same place.
Local people still come here to offer incense and worship, which is very natural and devout. The things that bring changes to these statues seem to have never happened before. Even in the face of such a situation, their hearts remain steadfast.
